Olallie Lookout

October 6, 1984

The party gathered in town at 8 a.m. under skies that appeared threatening, but skies improved to perfect by the time we got to Leaburg. The foliage was improving in color all the way to the trailhead where we found not a cloud in the sky. This is the way the weather stayed all day. We had lunch at the lookout and could view beautiful leaf displays for miles around us. Everyone in the party was caught up in the beauty of the day and the group was as cheerful a bunch as this leader has ever had the pleasure to be with on the trail. We were back in town of 4:30 p.m., and the leader speculated if he could lead this trip next year about the same week of the year and again have the weather and leaf display that we have been lucky enough to have for several past years and this year.

Hikers and viewers of fall color were Helen Lynch, Ruth Smith, Bev Dwier, Pam Marett, Kathleen Eldred, Sandra Larsen, Greg Marx, Virginia Prouty, Amy Ross, and Beth and Eaton Conant, leader.
