Sourgrass Mtn

September 30, 1984

Our party of four met at the Lowell Ranger Station, we then drove in two cars up Fall Creek and then up side roads to the lower end of the Alpine Trail off Road 1825. We left a car here then drove on seven miles on Road 1912 to the other end of our trail. It took us about four hours to make the hike up over Sourgrass Mtn and down past the Elk Camp shelter to where we had left the other car.

The day was cloudy with a little drizzle on the cars going up but otherwise we stayed dry.

Our guest for the trip was the new Recreation Officer for the Lowell Ranger District. We were pleased to have him along and hope that he comes out again with us. Besides guest Cliff Mitchell Obsidians Velma Shirk, Millard Thomas and leader Helen Smith enjoyed the trek.
