Pisgah Art Hike

June 3, 1984

Two members and three prospective members showed up at 8 a.m. Other interested persons evidently slept on. The day was sunny, gray, breezy, calm, warm and chilly. On again, off again, on again with jackets and sweaters. At the top, painting and sketching became more difficult as the artists’ hands got colder.

By noon we descended to the Arboretum with intentions of more sketching, but a near-by table invited us to eat instead. We spent an enjoyable time getting acquainted. Making the trip and new friendships were Shirley Froyd, Agnes and Tom Gillman, Ruth Nentwig and Carolyn Orum, leader. . . . and no, we will not be exhibiting our masterpieces.
