Larison Rock

April 21, 1984

’Twas the day before Easter
And all through the hills
The Obsidians were hiking
Round the rocks and the rills
The goal was called Larison
Up 3000 feet
One step at a time
Becomes quite a feat
To the top we ascended
One step and then two.
We stayed right together
And made quite a crew.
We kept right on stepping
To the top and back down
Tho we were now weary
There wasn’t a frown.
The hike was a pleasure
Conversation was great
Then our reward was
An ice-cream-cone treat.

P.S. The trail was in good shape, the weather not quite perfect—no view at the top. Wouldn’t you know—Ted wanted root beer, not ice cream. Besides Ted Castell there were Marjarie Kelm and the leader, Lois Morse on the trail.
