Clark Butte

A beautiful day for a hiking climb. It was cool to start out but we enjoyed sunshine for our lunch time on top of the ridge. After lunch we walked on along the ridge out to Road #1817 then back to our packs at Clark Butte and down to the cars.

About 15 miles up Fall Creek from the Unity Junction below the dam is found the parking lot for this trail. The Clark Butte Trail and Clark Creek Nature Trail share the same parking lot and an overlapping trail for about ½ mile. The view from our lunch spot wasn’t very good but the sunshine was our reward for the climb. (Editor’s note—Several of us enjoyed lying in the sun getting our first sunbath of the year.)
