Heavy snowfall at Rebel Rock Trailhead prompted our small, yet determined trail
crew to regroup at Deception Butte Trail.
A third-mile long reroute has been needed for years in the old clearcut north of
the bridge, since steep grades and extreme erosion had played havoc with the
Under difficult conditions—rain, thick vine maple, rocks, heavy duff,
etc.—half of the route was wrestled into first-rate trail.
