Rebel Creek BridgeMay 27, 1984Seven Obsidian log peelers, nailers, drillers and general assistants turned out to bring Rebel Creek Bridge to “near completion” status. Within minutes of reaching the site, a blur of activity broke our as poles were systematically felled, bucked, peeled, notched and fitted. All up-rights and main rails were installed and only a short trip is needed to clean the site and finish installing curb rails. Before leaving the bridge was officially christened with sparkling “Rebel Creek Water”. It’s truly impressive to see what a small dedicated group of hikers can do with limited tools and abundant will power. Single span engineers were John Cecil, Jack and Joella Ewing, Dave Predeek, Betty Legris, Michel Wright and leader Pete Cecil. |
