Four Obsidians worked “like the devil” cutting, clearing, carrying, throwing, stomping and stashing brush, limbs and other debris blocking the most scenic section of this out-of-the-way (12 miles southwest of Roseburg) “hole-in-the-ground” to make good on a 1982 post-trip promise to “clean up the Den!” Removal of one huge, jagged, ugly, obscene, splintered tree skeleton blocking the way achieved this purpose! All may now safely enter The Den (next scheduled Obsidian trip—Sunday, June 3. Try it, you’ll probably like it!) “Far-away-from-home” trail crew consisted of “Speedy” Pete Cecil, Richard Heinzkill, Gary Kirk, and leader John Cecil.
