Hot Air Ballooning

This past Good Friday, thirty Obsidians resisted such worldly, enticements as Easter travel and the Natural History Society meeting and chose the Obsidian potluck instead. Their virtue was rewarded by an engrossing half hour slide show covering the basics of hot air ballooning. Guest speaker Ron Purdum, who was accompanied by his lovely wife, Carol, had had no prior contact with the Obsidians, nor we with them, but by evening’s end a strong mutual appreciation had developed. The question and answer session brought many inquiries, and all participants departed with a heightened interest, so to speak, in this unusual and exotic sport.
