The Japanese Alps

February 23rd was a nostalgic evening for some Obsidians and a novel experience for others as they watched Jim Blanchard’s presentation on the Japanese Alps at the potluck. A show of hands revealed that a large number of people in the audience had visited Japan themselves. Jim’s experience as a travel agent became apparent as he embellished his narrative with interesting tidbits about Japanese culture. The result was a valuable mini-workshop on Japan. 87 people attended the potluck, and trip fees totalled $20.49.
