Gold Lake X-Country SkiJanuary 2, 1983We left Eugene for the first official Obsidian ski trip of the season. All the way to the sno-park area we had our fingers crossed that we wouldn’t have to put on chains. The parking lot was cold, windy and snow was blowing heavily. The trip into the lake was pleasant and the trail was protected from the wind. After playing on the hills we ate lunch in the shelter. After lunch the group decided we needed more skiing so we went back to the parking lot and skied a mile up Pengra Pass trail. The seven enthusiastic skiers were nonmembers Diane Reed, Byron Skang, Alex Tingley and Chuck Ware; members were Herb Lee, Gladys Grancorvitz, and leader Sandra Larsen. |
