Scott Mountain

September 10, 1983

Nine of us left the parking lot in two cars and “headed for the hills” with a potty stop at the Jessie Wood rest stop. The day was cloudy and at the parking area at Scott Lake, we were surprised that there were so few cars.

The hike up to Scott Mtn. passes by Benson Lake, which is picturesque. Tenas Lakes are up a bit higher, but we reserved a stop at them for the trip down since it involves a slight detour. On hot days these lakes afford a cooling swim. The trail to Scott Mtn. is a delight because it affords a variety of scenery—woods, open places, water, views and flowers.

Today, the top was in the cloud and it was quite windy there so we came back down to view spot for lunch. When we were on the way out it began to drizzle, but nothing could dampen our spirits as we had such a good time. Those accompanying the leader Shirley Froyd were Marl Baldwin, Ruth Cofman, Bonnie Ledford, Dot Leland, Ellen and Bob Tracy, and Doris and Merle Traudt.
