Horsepasture Mt

July 31, 1983

Fun hike with 13 other neat people. We started out hiking steeply up a hill that was a bit more than the 150 yards I had remembered it to be. We hiked through the fog past hundreds of Washington lilies, tiger lilies, columbines, and other pretty wildflowers.

By the time we were half way up Horsepasture Mt. from the Saddle, the fog burned off and a super view of the Three Sisters, Mt. Washington, and Mt. Bachelor greeted us at the top. Mt. Jefferson was a bit hazy; Mt. Hood almost invisible. We hated to leave this beautiful vista, but I intend to go back every year. Hikers included Paula Vehrs, Gladys Grancorvitz, Margaret Hadaway, Amy Clugston, Ed Lovegren, Doug and Marge Taylor, Cathy Riggleman, Don Ladigan, Janet Paul, Loretta Grycko, Barbara Fishleder, Marilyn Kerins, and leader, Bob Foster.
