Rebel Rock TrailMay 8, 1983A rapidly lowering snow level ordained the non-completion of this early May hike . . . In the event, deepening snow shortly after reaching the lower section of the upper meadow, with ever darkening skies and heavy earth-bound flakes triggered a cold lunch stop and a swift but orderly retreat back down to the cars. The opportunity was taken to walk the flagged re-route section of the main trailhead. Reluctant “retreaters” were Bob Foster, Mike Wright, Betty Legris, Marshall Pallett and leader John Cecil, substituting for flu-ridden Pete Cecil. |
