Fall Creek TrailMarch 2, 1983From Dolly Varden east in little over half a mile there were several jobs to be done. The big job of the day was to put a culvert in an area where mud has been known to be knee deep. Helen Smith obtained the culvert and strong people carried it to the site. Lot of rock-placing and dirt-moving improved the trail immensely. We also removed one tree which had narrowly missed falling on a foot bridge, unplugged a small drain pipe, put in some retaining logs, and diverted a small stream from the trail. Due to the hard work of Mary Bridgeman, Helen Smith, Pete Cecil, Fred Schepman, John Cecil, Shirley Froyd and leader Betty Legris, this small section of Fall Creek Trail is in much better condition. |
