Hardesty Mnt Trailhead ReconstructionFebruary 5, 1983The unfinished Hardesty trailhead work project again beckoned on this dry, bright Saturday morning. A bucket brigade hauled and placed and leveled gravel, and the all-important drainage ditch was deepened and up-graded. Some backwoods carpentry utilizing on-site logs followed, and a fine three-step entrance was constructed to lead the hiker on his first footing from the car park. Additional gravel is needed to fine-hone and polish the work on this important and much-used trailhead. President Joe Lowry briefly visited the site, with words of encouragement for all. Hardesty artisans were Mary Bridgeman, Peter Cecil, Betty Legris, Marshall Pallett, Fred Schepman, Helen Smith, and leader John Cecil. |
