Hardesty MntJanuary 29, 1983Following on from last Wednesday’s Hardesty trailhead work session, material to complete was indeed hauled to the site. A hurriedly-arranged Saturday “follow-up” trip was organized, and after a vehicle breakdown and FS wheelbarrow repair job, 5 cu. yds. of crushed rock was eventually hefted into place, hopefully to dry and consolidate. More intelligent placement of the bulk gravel would have been appreciated. Though this well-versed crew got on with the job with minimal muttering, careless administrative gaffes of this nature will surely damage the very ideals of Volunteerism . . . Long-distance gravel haulers were Mari Baldwin (with skis!) (?), Peter Cecil, Betty Legris, Fred Schepman, Helen Smith and leader John Cecil. |
