Hayrick Butte snowshoe trip

March 14, 1982

This strictly-snowshoe trip momentarily diverted to Proxy Falls along the way, doubtful as the leader was that Santiam Pass would be passable. It was, and good snow conditions made for a fairly strenuous shuffle to Big Lake, located more by luck than by wristwatch!! Nearby Mount Washington loomed but was totally invisible.

Dedicated snowshoers were Karen Houglum, Lee Hatch, Betty Legris, Joe Lowry, Suzanne Steussy, Marshall Pallett, and John Cecil (leader).
