Rosary LakesFebruary 6, 1982Seven skiers arrived at Willamette Pass on a beautiful day. Although we found plenty of snow, it was old, and quite slick on the humps and the slide slopes. Two soon decided to retreat, and go in to Gold Lake instead, but the others proceeded on our planned trail. Two of the faster skiers went on ahead, while the others traveled at a slower pace. For that particular trail, conditions were far from ideal. We had lunch in the sunshine on the shore of the first lake, and shortly were on our way out again. Two carried their skis part of the way out. We were all back at the cars by about 4:00 p.m. It was an enjoyable trip, even with conditions that were a little rough for the less experienced skiers in the group. Skiers were nonmember Julie Rogers, and members Shirley Froyd, Mary Fulton, Gunther Furnsteiner, Eve Lonquist, Donna Wolcott and leader Norman Benton. |
