Potato HillJanuary 24, 1982Skiers who participated in the Potato Hill trip had the dubious honor of being the first on the summit Sunday morning. Considering snow conditions this was no small feat. Our group broke trail in deep, wet and heavy snow. Fortunately, the two-mile uphill battle was accomplished in short time. The rest of the day was ours to play on the slopes at the top. We had brief glimpses of Three Fingered Jack, Mt. Washington and the Sisters before the clouds obscured our view. The trip from the summit to the parking lot went very quickly, but I’m sure provided plenty of thrills for all. Skiers were Vickie Buck, Emmy Dale, Walt Davis, Neil Deyo, Bea Fontana, Dorothy Hayes, Theresa Hockett, Mavis Prescott, Pauline Sandos, Pat Smith, Paula West, and co-leaders Parker Riddle and Kathi Stroh. |
