McKenzie River Trail-Trail Bridge Dam to Buck Bridge

November 13, 1982

We left a foggy and cold Eugene around 9:00 a.m. and drove on to another beautiful day on the McKenzie River Trail. The weather was sunny, clear, and crisp and the trip was nothing less than invigorating. We started at Trail Bridge Dam at 11:00 a.m. and walked south, stopping to eat lunch at Deer Creek around 12:15 p.m. We reached Buck Bridge by 2:30 p.m. The trail, was in excellent condition, a real testimony to everyone who worked to clear it. After making the obligatory stop at Vi’s, we returned to the haze and cold. Hikers were members K.C. Kraft, Dorothy Hayes, Bob and Ellen Tracy, Merle Traudt, and Shirley Froyd; nonmembers Martha Mitchell, Peter Jensen, Sono Enseki, Rod Graves, Betty, Angle and Bob Forbes and Paul Longstreth, and leader Margaret Hadaway.
