Scott Mountain

September 12, 1982

This was a 10-mile loop hike beginning at the parking area at Scott Lake and heading northeast to Hand Lake and then northwest up the Hand Lake Trail for two miles. From here we hiked one mile up the north side of Scott Mtn following tree blazes of a trail that has not been maintained in more than 20 years. Unfortunately, the weather turned showery for this portion of the hike and we did not take any side trips to view any of the small lakes in this area. As we approached the summit of Scott Mtn it stopped raining, but the view was still obscured by clouds. We returned to the parking area by the commonly used route on the south side of the mountain past Benson Lake. The sky cleared somewhat and we even had some sunshine. The eight participants in this venture were Helen Lynch, Paula Vehrs, Harlo & Marty Perrin, Bob, and Ellen Tracy, Wilbur Groner and leader Dave Predeek.
