Scott Mountain

August 29, 1982

The trail up Scott Mountain was in excellent shape and well marked. Because it had rained Saturday neither the dust or temperature was a problem. On the hike we made stops at Benson Lake and also at Tenas Lakes which were beautiful this time of year. The higher we got the more fog we encountered and by the time we got to the top it was totally socked in, blocking out any possible view.

On the return trip several people wanted to try an alternate route via Hand Lake. The trail was not maintained and disappeared after about ½ mile so they returned to the original trail.

Those participating in the hike were Lin Pierce, Karen Seidel, Richard Heinzkill, Dorothy Hayes, Harold Busby, Jan Beals, Vi Tolleson, Ethel Weltman, and Karen and Bill Dollemore, leader.
