Chambers Lakes (Camp Lake)

August 14, 1982

Two cars and a party of ten left the parking lot at 18th and Patterson at 7:00 a.m. We arrived at the trailhead at Pole Creek at 10:00 a.m. in a rain shower. Lunch stop at noon on the South bank of the North Fork of Squaw Creek, again in a light sprinkle. Hiking over snow patches, we arrived at Camp Lake at 2:15. We had a very nice view of the lake but neither South or Middle Sister were visible. The group left on the return trip at 3:00 p.m. and arrived back at the cars at 6:30, again in a very light drizzle. The first car arrived home at 9:30 p.m. I recommend that any other day hikes to this area leave at 5:00 a.m. so lunch could be eaten at the lake and more time allowed for exploring. Those making the trip were Wilbur Groner, Helen Lynch, Dot Leland, Anne Montgomery, Marshall Pallett, Lois Schreiner, Karen Seidel, Mary Vogel, Ruth and leader Wayne Lill.
