July 4, 1982
We got off to a late start because of the traffic tie-up caused
by the Butte-to-Butte Run.
Also waited for three people who didn’t show up.
Weather looked a little threatening but still very pleasant.
We took the short-cut trail to the top and many spring flowers
were still in bloom.
With three botanists in the group we were able to identify most of
the flowers for the novices.
The top of the mountain was a veritable flower garden.
After enjoying the view and good company for an hour and a half
it began to rain, so we made fast tracks back to our cars.
Hikers were Mary Burnet, Rose Hess, Margaret Hadaway, Gladys Grancorvitz,
Connie Montgomery, Teresa Nutt, Margaret Markley, Lois Schreiner,
Paula Vehrs and leader Elizabeth McMullin.
