Fall Creek Trail

April 7, 1982

The first 8½ miles of Fall Creek Trail was substituted for the planned “Rhyolite” look-see hike (see separate “Rhyolite” notice elsewhere in this Bulletin). A car shuttle at Puma Bridge had us on our merry way under greyish skies which soon turned blue — the perfect Spring day. A leisurely (if early) lunch in the sun on Mandatory (er, Pigeon!) Rock, then reluctantly on down the trail, and Lo! here’s Helen (Smith) busily inventorying fallen logs!

The trail looked good after recent Trail Committee clearing efforts, but the need still remains for Lowell Forest Service to remove the really big ones. Wednesday Fall Creekers were Pat Bestler, John Cecil (scribe), Barbara Egenhoff, Betty Legris, Kathy Ryan and Joe Lowry (leader).
