Starting from the visitor center south of Yachats, we were fortunate that we made it to the top of the Capt. Cook Ridge Trail before the rain began. However, the remainder of the day was spent in steady rain. The trail up Cape Perpetua being closed, we took a short walk on the beach before agreeing the rain was here to stay and heading home.

Wednesday hikers were: Jay Ashman, Meg Ashman, John Cecil, Pete Cecil, Gladys Grancorvitz, Leader Lee Hatch, K.C. Kraft, Marshall Pallett, Fred Schepman, Bari Thompson, Doris Traudt and Merle Traudt.
