Eula Ridge to Mt. HardestyJanuary 31, 1982The turnout for the Eula Ridge-Mt. Hardesty hike and snow flounder was light, but who in their right mind would want to struggle through hip deep snow when they had the Odell Butte Ski trip as an alternative? The trail was a veritable obstacle course with tons of debris littered everywhere? Wherever possible, we stopped and cleared the trail. As for the rest, it generally provoked the usual moments of indecision — whether to wiggle under, clamber over or pick ones way around? Those enjoying the hard won view from a vantage knoll that looked more like Potato Hill than Mt. Hardesty were John Cecil, Betty Legris and leader Bob Devine. |
