McKenzie River Trail

January 20, 1982

Started hike at western end of trail. About 18 inches of snow made it difficult and slow going. Hikers split into about three groups. Hiked to Belknap Springs area, and because of the snow, returned by way of the highway. Stopped at Vi’s Pies on the way back to Eugene. Trail in need of maintenance due to fallen timber. Hikers were Jay Ashman, Angie Barta, Diane Bush, John Cecil, Bill Gabriel, Joanne Haines, Lee Hatch, Steven Kraft, Betty Legris, Lois Morse, Gene Thaxton, Mike Wright and leader K. C. Kraft.
