Gold Point Trail Maintenance

We managed to clean out most of the second mile of the Gold Point trail. Lots of salal was cut back with nippers and small trees which were across the trail or leaning over the trail were sawn out with bow saws. Two Forest Service men started out with us, but after the first big tree was cut, the chain saw started giving them trouble so they went back. This was the second work party on this trail, the first one had made it up the first mile; we cleaned out the second mile. Trail workers were Bob and Sharon Andreason, Bernie Claypool, Ted Stern, Kathy Ryan, Amy Clugston, Evelyn Schmitt and leader Helen Smith.
