McKenzie River Trail - work tripMarch 31, 1982Continuing on down storm-damaged McKenzie River National Recreational Trail, our keen Wednesday work crew variously heaved limbs and trash, manhandled logs, brushed, clipped, snipped and generally groomed this favorite hiking trail a further three miles to Buck Bridge, Carpenter-Frissell X-ing. This first section is now open to foot-traffic in all its uncluttered Spring glory. McKenzie Ranger Station again supplied hand tools, hard hats and gloves ad nauseum. Trail developers were Peter Cecil, Wilbur Groner, Judy Hammitt, K. C. Kraft, Marshall Pallett, Fred Schepman, John Cecil (leader) and with invaluable chain-saw assistance from Matt Horowitz of the Forest Service. |
