Eula Ridge/Mt. Hardesty

November 18, 1981

We picked a good day for a Wednesday hike. It wasn’t raining and it wasn’t snowing and five hardy souls accepted the challenge of the Eula Ridge Trail. The first challenge was crossing the creek. There was also some downed timber near the beginning of the trail. Betty led the way as usual. The trail was still as steep as I remembered. Wilbur had predicted four inches of snow on top of the mountain. He was right. It was plenty cold too. We were down before 3:00 p.m. with plenty of time for a stop at the Dairy Freeze on the way back. Participating were Wilbur Groner, Betty Legris, Paul Magney, Ron Nunemaker and leader K.C. Kraft.
