Olallie Mtn & Lookout
October 17, 1981
The members and guests had a glorious, clear warm day for our hike from the
trailhead at Road 1993, out along Olallie Mountain spur for the 3.5 miles
to the lookout.
The wind was absolutely still all day long.
The foliage of vine maple and other trees and brush was at the peak of color.
Needless to say, our lunch from atop the lookout point, with 360 degree view,
was one that kept people exclaiming at our weather luck and the view of the
high Cascades and French Pete drainage.
All concluded the day with comments to the effect that it was one long to be remembered.
Lookout viewers were Jan Baker, Phyllis Ford, Shirley Froyd, K.C. Kraft,
Shirley Laing, Martha and Bryant Mitchell, Fred Schepman, Paula Vehrs,
Eleanor Wilkerson, and leader Eaton Conant.
