Jack Loop

September 27, 1981

Dark and overcast skies in town did not discourage the group of six-hikers from our trip around Three Fingered Jack. After driving to Jack Lake we took the short trail to Canyon Creek Meadow at the east face of Jack. After a short rest and snack we headed north up the steep ridge to the Crest Trail. Then down the west side and up the south ridge. We were glad to get out of the strong wind down the east scree slope and down First Creek to the trail that took us back to our cars at Jack Lake. Enjoying this harder than usual hike in less than ideal weather were Dallas Cole, Margaret Crosland, Jeanne Kincaid, Marshall Pallett, John Mowat, and leader Lee Hatch.
