Mowich Lake/Red Butte
September 12-13, 1981
“Over hill, over dale as we hit the dusty trail!”
We camped at Mowich Lake for the night.
No tents were needed as the weather held beautiful.
Sunday morning Kevin Clark and Parker climbed to the top of Red Butte for
a magnificent view of Mt. Jefferson and other Cascade peaks.
The Lake water (Twin, Duffy, Mowich) was cold, just right for invigorating swims.
We brought along plenty of gourmet food to munch on all weekend.
This was a very enjoyable overnighter, except for the trail dust — WE NEED RAIN!
Scuffing along were Kevin Clark, Theresa Hockett, Kathy Stroh, Paula Vehrs,
and leader Parker Riddle.
