Mt. Bailey

September 9, 1981

Many of the world’s problems. were solved verbally on the back seat during our long mid-week drive to Trail No. 1451. Mt. Bailey, in Southern Oregon. An early start . . . perfect weather after leaving the Valley, gentle breezes while hiking, and first-class views rewarded our small group. A leisurely lunch was taken at the summit (8,363') before a very reluctant descent. Some members of the party (who shall remain anonymous!!) miffed our chances of getting free gas at Chemult Arco (details on request . . . ) Atop Mt. Bailey were: Dallas Cole, Bob Foster, Wilbur Groner, Betty Legris, Suzanne Steussy and John Cecil, leader.
