Little & Big Bunchgrass Mdws

July 19, 1981

A very companionable group of nine set out for Little Bunchgrass Meadow on a fine Sunday morning. After working a car shuttle to our destination, we began the ascent on Owl Cabin Way. With a good warm-up behind us we lunched and enjoyed the view from Little Bunchgrass Meadow. The route to Big Bunchgrass was as pleasant as the July day. Our leisurely pace was punctuated with frequent stops to admire wildflowers in meadows and rock faces. Our descent from Big Bunchgrass Meadow to the road below was flavored by wild strawberries.

Making the trip were Mary Burnet, John Cecil, Gladys Grancorvitz, Betty Legris, Parker Riddle, Bill Robinson, Lois Schreiner, Marian Streeter and leader Jerold Williams. (Trail was steep, imperceptible in places, and last meadow was crossed by gullies plus slippery vegetation on the steep descent to the shuttle cars, but a good eight mile trip just the same.—ye Editor.)
