The enthusiasm of Marcia Appler, in Oregon for the first time, made all of
us appreciate Oregon even more.
We all enjoyed a clear, cool day on this trail that is partly through deep
woods and partly through open meadows and rock outcroppings.
Many wild flowers were in evidence but the best show was the bear grass.
If you have never been to Olallie in July, put it on your calendar for next year.
Restrictions on wilderness areas limited the hikers on this trip but the ten who
went were a congenial group.
Everyone made the top easily where we had a leisurely hour before heading back
to the cars.
Olallie hikers were Marcia Appler, Bob Foster, Helen Hughes, Helen Lynch,
Fred Schepman, Karen Seidel, Marian Summers, Carolyn Watters, Margaret Wiese
and leader Catherine Jones.
