July 4, 1981
Our July 4 departure was delayed a few minutes in case anyone got held
up by the Butte to Butte run.
(Two people did.)
The word of the day was HOT!
We were glad we went up the short Eagles Rest trail.
Those who were on either of the work parties earlier in the spring will be
interested to know that most of our work looks pretty good.
However, horses used the trail when it was quite wet and did some damage.
By the time we reached Mt. June the unshaded top was uncomfortably warm.
Bob tried to get some interest going on a side trip to Sawtooth Rock for wild
flower viewing and photographing and finally got one person to go.
The rest of us were happy to sit or lie around.
After a while we decided the DQ in Pleasant Hill was the next place to be
for something wet and cold.
The ambitious photographers were member Bob Foster and visitor Alan Reynolds.
Other visitors were Jennifer Gilliam, Dorothy Long, Val Lonnquist,
Helen and Leo Martin, Carol Musson, and Pam Reynolds,
and members Karen Houglum, Ruth & Wayne Lill, Doug Long, Fred Schepman,
Merle Traudt, and leader Betty Legris.
