A cloudy, drippy day failed to discourage 10 hikers who enjoyed the fine trail and the opportunity to see again the early spring flowers that were long gone in the valley. Helen Smith acted as trail leader and we appreciated her knowledge of the area, though she was unable to sweep away the clouds that closed in the spots where we had promised a view. The light rain quit long enough for a pleasant lunch stop at a meadow just below the old lookout site. We marked this trip as one to be repeated when good weather was assured. Hikers included Emmy Dale, Gary and Sue Doolittle, Marian Ehlers, Cathy Ellis, Wilbur Groner, K.C. Kraft, Fred Schepman, Helen Smith & leader Helen Hughes.
