Fall Creek Trail

January 25, 1981

It was a cold, dry morning which could have given car drivers frosty roads, but didn’t. We left a car at the Dolly Varden bridge where the Fall Creek Trail starts then drove on up to Puma Bridge crossing and started down the trail. Hiking conditions were good, nothing down across the trail and water crossings were low. The new bypass trail past Bedrock Campground makes it possible to now hike six miles with a road crossing which is most enjoyable.

Lunch break was taken at the end of road 408, the old powderhouse road, in weak sunshine. Then on the last three miles to the end of the trail. Hikers were Vi, Mike and Maureen Kenny, Don Ladigin, Dick Mickelson, Al Snyder, Barry Beck, Evelyn Schmitt, Karen Houglum, Dave Predeek, Bernie Claypool, F.F. Schepman and leader Helen Smith.
