Crater Lake

April 26-27, 1980

Great trip, great weekend, great weather; this trip followed the standard format for the Crater Lake ski tour. We left Rim Village at l:00 p.m. skied to the Watchman, set up camp, and spent the balance of the day practicing technique, cooking dinner, and telling jokes. When reduced to telling elephant jokes, the time had come to turn in.

Early next morning we headed for Llao Rock, making the round trip in 7 hours in spite of several difficult traverses of icy slopes at The Watchman. On the trip were John Hermannsson, Monty Lynn and Jack Nitzel, leader.
