Pengra Pass to Odell Lake

March 2, 1980

Some ski trips about this time were being cancelled for lack of snow so we weren’t sure what to expect, but as everybody in the group was willing, we decided to take a chance. We were pleasantly surprised to find ample snow and good skiing conditions under sunny skies.

We took Pengra Pass Road to the shore of Odell Lake and then started back. It was only 11:45 and such a nice day we decided to include a visit to Midnight Lake before going home. Instead of returning on the same trail, we made the loop, which gives a nice gentle downhill run before connecting again with Pengra Pass Road. The resulting trip was longer than originally planned, but no one was too tired, and we had a pleasant day of skiing.

Skiers were Gladys Grancorvitz, Bonnie Ledford, Leona Mattson, (leader) and Earl and Lauretta Ruttencutter.
