McKenzie River Trail

November 22, 1980

“The beauties of Oregon never fail to amaze me, and this trip was no exception,” said Mary Babarik of the McKenzie River Trail. “The McKenzie River is so beautiful — I shot about 60 pictures” according to Bob Foster. Bob Gaesser of Albany, N.Y. saw his first water ouzel and was fascinated by the trees, rockfalls and unusual bridges. “But the best part of the trip was the berry cobbler” at the Log Cabin Inn. Genie Currier enjoyed the nature lessons provided by the leader and was glad to be dry at the end of the trip. Predicted rain did not occur.

The trip was led by Jack Ewing for his wife Joella who stayed home to nurse a bad cold. Other hikers included Mary Babarik, Bernie Claypool, Genie Currier, Bob Foster, Bob Gaesser and Margaret Hadaway.
