Obsidian Loop - Three Sisters

August 23, 1980

A beautiful day, lovely, interesting people and a varied, fantastically beautiful trail can only lead to an outstanding, beautiful, fantastic trip. An early departure of 7 a.m. gave us plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the peacefulness of the meadow flowers. Hikers traveled at their own pace, regrouping to admire the line of mountains, to discuss the wild flowers and have a LONG, leisurely lunch in view of Jefferson and Hood!

All along the hike we enjoyed Lois’ T-shirt! (check it out!) and watched for Vera’s children, who caught up with us at Sunshine Meadows. We were glad to add to our number of hikers. All came out together as they had been promised cookies and ice water by the leader. The hikers were Dorothy Van Winkle, Sharon Fraley, V. Johnson, Vera Wooley, Linda and Dan Scott, Lois Schreiner, Helen Lynch, J. Dorien Devrlee, Tom Stern, co-leaders Wayne and Ruth Lill, Bob Devine and Maude Caldwell (leader).
