Canyon Creek Meadows

July 20, 1980

It was a beautiful day, a fun trip and a good group. We started on the trail at Jack Lake and hiked approximately three miles to the northeast base of Three Fingered Jack. While on the trail through Canyon Creek Meadows, we all appreciated the wild flowers in bloom.

We stopped for lunch below the small moraine lake. After lunch we had about two hours of free time to rest or explore and enjoy the scenery. Some of the group climbed up to the lake, while Anne, Clarence and Bob climbed up above the lake to the east ridgeline. They said the view was spectacular from there. After arriving back at the cars, it was decided to make a side auto trip to the head of Jack Creek, which is a unique and interesting area.

On the trip were Joyce Brooken, Elizabeth McMullin, Anne Montgomery, Allen Niems (leader), Mike Niems, Parker Riddle, Clarence Scherer, Dorothy Scherer, Lois Schreiner, and Bob Walden.
