June 7, 1980
It was a beautiful day, doubly enjoyed because of a poor forecast
and a rainy start.
Some snow on the trail made going a little slow, but where it was
clear the trail was great.
The lakes had lost their ice sheet in the two weeks since the trip
was scouted and the creek crossing was accomplished both ways with
all dry feet.
Lunch in the sun on the Rock with the beautiful view to enjoy prompted
the following comment by one member, and it was seconded by all the party:
“How lucky I am to have legs that will carry me to places as
beautiful as this.”
The lucky hikers were: Ceil Flickinger, Helen Hughes (leader),
Bobbie Kalbfleisch, Gary Kalbfleisch, Ruth Lill, Wayne Lill, Doug Long,
