Skyline Trail North of Santiam Pass

There was no fresh snow & it froze the night before, but the snow had
softened a little as our party of five skiers started up the trail.
Some of us had difficulties as the Pacific Crest Trail just north of the pass
winds considerably and one has to be adept at dodging trees.
After two miles, however, there are large openings where the terrain undulates gently.
We ate our lunch here and spent some time practicing down hill runs and turning.
The weather was dry but it turned quite windy at higher elevations and a storm appeared
to be threatening as we headed back to the parking area.
Our group included
