Hackleman Creek Road

February 4, 1979

Fresh snow gave Hackleman Creek Road a look of unspoiled nature at its loveliest. We had the gentle hills and quiet forests to ourselves. On such a mild day, with such scenery, who would complain about breaking trail through six inches of wet heavy new snow? Almost nobody—who was toward the rear of the line!

We were able to make a five-mile shuttle, as planned, from Highway 20 back to Highway 126 near Clear Lake. The stalwart crew numbered eleven: six members & five nonmembers: Gladys Grancorvitz, Carol Green, Marge Judy, Bonnie Ledford, Dot & Ron Leland, Dick Moffitt, Joyce Wolpert, Charlene Simpson, Mike & leader Velma Shirk.
