(Oakridge Ranger District)
September 2, 1979
Twenty-six signed up and only five were willing to risk the weather.
Our rewards were many.
No other hikers on the trail, fair weather after a11, three elk at close
range, lingering flowers, good views of the countryside.
Several of us were stung by yellow-jackets, but Donna’s mud remedy
offered relief quite promptly.
This was not enough to offset the generally exuberant mood of the party.
Those who shared the Salmon Lakes Trail were:
and Emmy Dale, leader.
